Devlog 2

Successes:

Every member of our team worked steadily throughout the week. We picked up where others left off, divided work evenly, and finished up our mobile game application. We had a shared Google Doc where we wrote down game ideas, future tasks, and plans; we also assigned ourselves to different tasks on our organized task table. The task table consisted of the task title, who is going to work on it, and a comment section where we were able to track how much progress/what needs to be done. Even when some members of our team were sick, we all worked around it and were able to be flexible, meeting all the deadlines. This process led to a smooth communication among team members, allowing us to finish our project.

Challenges:

The golf ball movement was difficult to figure out. We weren't sure if we even wanted to have our game to be in 2D or 3D. We initially had the golf ball to move by having the user pull back in the direction they want the ball to move to. This ball control system was difficult for the users to predict where the ball should go and the movement wasn't working as smoothly as we wanted it to. We then had to switch over to using the gyroscope sensors of our phones. Coming up with features the users can use to make the game more fun was also challenging. We added a jump function, but with figuring out the main ball movement, everything slowed down to add more features to the game.

What we learned:

Communication is super important. Without knowing which part was difficult and what is expected of the team, we would not have been able to finish our project the way we did. Working in a team, communicating our tasks only benefits; therefore, it is that crucial. While our team did very well in dividing up tasks and finishing them on time,  we believe we could've benefited more from updates throughout the progress of our tasks.

Future Revisions:

We want to add more complicated levels, as well as more features for users to use, such as different terrains. In addition, we want to be able to make the graphics more fitting with our homepage theme and make it less like a game made from basic Unity elements.
